About

Fernando's Eyes returns with a new single, "Room On Fire", out on September 25 via Aenaos Records. A video accompanies the release on the same date.

Fernando's Eyes is the solo project of Fernando Honorato, best known as the singer and co-founder of Stockholm post-punk band Principe Valiente. "Room On Fire" is the first new material from the project since last year's Center Of Your World and the Bonus Tracks & Remixes drawn from those sessions.

The track moves with a directness that sets it apart from the more atmospheric work on Center Of Your World. Honorato produced it himself, with co-production and mix by Hans Olsson, layering programmed drums with live toms he played personally, setting machine-tight rhythm against something more physical that runs through the whole song. A saxophone part by Swedish jazz musician Lina Langendorf cuts through the arrangement without turning ornamental.

Thematically, "Room On Fire" is a song about leaving without looking back, not as an act of loss but as a deliberate choice. There is forward momentum in the production that matches what the lyrics are doing: no extended fade, no ambiguity held in reserve.
