VOYNA is the side project of Peer Lebrecht, the frontman and creative force behind Berlin’s post-punk/darkwave band Golden Apes.
Founded in 2020 as a creative laboratory and musical playground, the project released its debut album “The Cinvat Bridge” the following year through the French label Icy Cold Records. The 14-track record received critical acclaim, described as “a set of well-crafted and thoughtful songs that run the whole range of emotion” with “a higher artistic concept”.
Free from release pressures, VOYNA took two years to return with the “...and the Heresies” EP - a work that reflected Peer’s artistic curiosity and openness, introducing lighter tones and subtle electronic textures to the project’s sound.
In 2025, VOYNA will release its second studio album “Monsters” via Aenaos Records - a ten-song collection that spans from synth-driven darkwave to guitar-centered post-punk, with live performances expected to follow in 2026.
