Amáutica

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Amáutica started as a duo in late 2008 in Llavallol, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The band was formed by drummer Romina Dusk and writer, narrator, and novelist Eugenio J. Cáceres, also known as El Gurú, who handled guitar and vocals. El Gurú combined his passion for literature with rock music, meeting Romina and sharing melodies that emerged during his years of seclusion while writing his literary works.

El Gurú has been an underground artist since 1989, when he started his first punk rock band, which became a cult favorite in the local scene. In the mid-90s, he was part of an experimental grunge trio that gained some media and TV exposure until the end of the century. He then focused on writing but continued composing music.

In 2010, after two years of intense rehearsals, Amáutica developed a unique sound with songs referencing their favorite writers and an esoteric perspective. The music featured straightforward melodies and powerful rock arrangements contributed by Romina. Later that year, the band released their first independent production, "El Oscuro Toque de lo Impersonal."

In April 2012, Amáutica recorded the EP "El Centro Secreto," which was independently released on Bandcamp and SoundCloud, gaining traction in the European and Latin American dark scenes. Later that year, bassist Christian Vega joined the band.

After the release of the single "Alunizaje - Nemesis Remix by Rotten," a collaboration with Frank Rothen from the German band Reactive Black, the band worked on their first album, "Rectificando el Sueño," recorded by Agustín Isnardi at Studio Sur, mixed by Aidan S in Birmingham, and mastered by Dark Creation Mastering in England. The album was digitally released in 2016 by Hacemos Eco, La Plata, Argentina. In 2017, the official release of "Rectificando el Sueño" on CDr format was published by Sonorium, Germany.

In the following years, Amáutica gained more attention with the re-release of "Rectificando el Sueño" for the Argentine territory, various contributions to CD compilations, the publishing of various remixes of their songs, as well as festival gigs in Latin America.

In 2021, the band started working on their new album “Sin Altares” at Bluenoise Records and published two collaboration singles with Nino Sable (Aeon Sable) and Christian Lebrecht (Golden Apes). In June 2024, Amáutica signed with the German label Aenaos Records for the release of the new album "Sin Altares" in September 2024.
