The Danish alternative rock band HalfCutLemon will release the single "Ointment" from their forthcoming album "This Ain't Real" on 23 May. A powerful mix of punk energy and melodic melancholy, the song explores the insecurities of youth and the ways in which people mask their vulnerability - be it through religion, aesthetics or social identity.
Formed out of a shared love of raw emotion and genre-bending storytelling, HalfCutLemon fuses post-punk grit with cinematic textures. Their forthcoming album, including the new track 'Ointment', was produced by the legendary Flemming Rasmussen at Sweet Silence Studio.
"Ointment" also features a stellar cast of guest contributors. Danish underground icon Peter Peter adds second vocals and contributes cello and strings to enhance the song's emotional middle section.
