About

Cold, dark Scandinavia has always been fertile ground for equally dark and mysterious music. Swedish band Killing Kind returns with their second album, Being Human — a heavier and darker follow-up to their 2023 debut. Blending post-punk, synth pop, and goth, the album combines strong melodies with an urgent reflection on the uncertain times we are living in.

Across eleven tracks, Being Human offers incantations and chants for a dying world, where humanity keeps trying to extinguish great fires with gasoline. The lyrics draw on classic sci-fi and horror themes to capture a sense of global trauma.

The album was recorded at the legendary Sunlight Studio with producer Tomas Skogsberg, best known for his work with death metal acts such as Entombed and Dismember. His touch deepens the soundscape shaped by Björn Norberg (guitar, bass, vocals), Mats Wigerdal (synthesizers), and Mats Molund, alongside guest musicians Cecilia Germain (vocals), Lidija Radmilac (viola), Måns Hartman (bass), and Ernst Erlanson (piano).

Fans of The Cure, Depeche Mode, and David Bowie will find familiar echoes in Killing Kind’s music, but also discover a distinctive voice with its own DNA. Their self-titled debut was warmly received, with the single This Beautiful World reaching radio listeners worldwide. The first single from Being Human, Desperately Holding On (released summer 2025), has already followed a similar path. With the new album, the band hopes to connect even more broadly — and the songs deserve nothing less.

Originally a side project born during the pandemic, Killing Kind has since grown into a fully realized band, performing live and continually evolving through new writing and recording.

Being Human will be released worldwide through Aenaos Records and Viskningar och Vrål.
