The Silence Industry return with (Take Me) Offline / …And October Awaits!, out on [release date]. It is the first in a new series of releases from the Vancouver project. The double single is available on all streaming platforms. The full release, a four-track edition, is available only on Bandcamp.
The two title tracks are built on guitar, bass and drum machine. "(Take Me) Offline" leans towards shoegaze and Britpop. "…And October Awaits!" turns towards deathrock and prog.
The Bandcamp edition adds two pieces that won't appear anywhere else. "Should the Human Race Survive?" is an improvised dark ambient noise piece. "Whirlwinds of Danger" is a mostly acoustic arrangement of the English-language version of a 19th-century Polish revolutionary song. The download also includes the cover art and a lyric zine with the words to the release.
All four tracks were recorded and mixed in TSI's rebuilt home studio, mostly with free and open-source software. The songs are released under a Creative Commons licence (CC BY-NC-SA).
If you'd like to support the artist directly, Bandcamp is the place to do it.
