Fernando Honorato, the Stockholm-based artist behind Fernando's Eyes and co-founder of post-punk outfit Principe Valiente, releases his new single "Room On Fire" today on Aenaos Records — the first new material since his 2025 album Center Of Your World.
The track was recorded at Studio Helter Skelter in Stockholm and mixed and mastered at Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg, with Hans Olsson serving as co-producer and mixer. The production follows the Fernando's Eyes approach of layering programmed drums with live toms, building a sound that sits between post-punk directness and dream pop atmosphere — compact and deliberate, without unnecessary ornamentation.
The most distinctive element is the saxophone contribution from Lina Langendorf, which develops its own melodic thread through the song. It marks a tonal departure from Honorato's more guitar-driven earlier work, adding space without loosening the track's structure.
Lyrically, "Room On Fire" deals with a conscious decision to move on — not as a rupture, but as a clear-eyed acknowledgment of what's being left behind and what comes next. The production reflects that: nothing overwrought, nothing unresolved.
